Rio Tinto Kennecott’s Charitable Foundation is a nonprofit that aims to help Utah residents. This includes supporting charities that assist children, veterans, senior citizens, and those struggling with homelessness, disabilities or low income.
Since 1992, the Foundation has donated more than $3 million dollars to local community charities.
The Foundation is made up of nine trustees from the greater Salt Lake Area and select Kennecott employees. These board members come from the southwestern part of the Salt Lake Valley, Magna and Copperton, and areas of expertise like education and humanities.
